Nature weekend idea: why choose the Alps in autumn?

The new school year has begun, routine has set in, and all you dream of is escaping to the great outdoors? Are you looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating place to spend a long weekend with your partner, family, or friends?
Look no further! We have just what you need... THE M-O-U-N-T-A-I-N!
Discover five reasons to come and clear your mind in the Alps this fall.

Summary

1 – Yellow, orange, red... so many colors!

Our favorite season to watch the landscape change.

In autumn, the leaves on the trees change color every day. Calling all budding photographers! Just a short walk away, the mountains offer magnificent multicolored panoramas...From snow-capped peaks to carpets of reddish blueberries?

2 – Hikes that are still accessible on foot

To put on your sneakers one last time before getting out your skis.

Before a blanket of snow completely covers our mountains, the tranquility of fall still offers some magnificent hikes! It’s a chance to find yourself completely alone on trails that are usually crowded during the peak summer season! Here is a (non-exhaustive) list of our team’s favorite hikes in Tignes and La Rosière. If you’re staying at one ofour Alpapart residences, our on-site receptionists will be happy to recommend the best fall hiking routes.

3 – Enjoy the first snowfall

Although autumn can be dry in the Alps, it is not uncommonto see snowfall quite early in the season...And sometimes even enough to get out your cross-country skis and snowshoes as early as the end of October.

4 – Admire the frozen lakes

To unleash the Papadakis & Cizeron that lie dormant within you!

There is always something magical about watching our mountain lakes freeze over in autumn. We throw stones onto the ice to make the water sing, we get wet testing the thickness of the edges... And sometimes, we are lucky enough to enjoy the ice (still without snow) for a skating session in the heart of nature...A sight that leaves you speechless!

5 – Comforting Savoyard dishes

We knew you couldn't wait for winter...

Did you hesitate many times to getout the raclette machine this summer? Were you reminded to do so with a tomato and mozzarella salad? Don't panic! In the mountains,Savoyard dishesare allowed all year round.

And what could be more comforting than a plate of melted cheese by the fire?
Our resorts in Tignes and La Rosière are equipped with raclette and fonduesets… And some of our apartments even have fireplaces!
